The signatures need to be verified in coming days for the votes to be counted in the upcoming election.

As of Tuesday, Clark County, which includes Las Vegas, refused to count 5,854 ballots, according to a report from Las Vegas TV station KLAS.

Some of these voters rectified the discrepancies as of recent days so at last count 5,574 voters still had questionable signatures.

When inspecting the signatures, election officials concluded they failed to match a signature already held by the department.

Others Forgot to Sign

Another 380 Clark County voters who sent in their ballots by mail failed to sign the form. Twenty-one of these voters have since addressed the issue. But 359 had not signed the ballot as of Tuesday.

Under protocol, the Election Department will alert voters if the signature raises issues. But that’s only for those who gave officials a phone number or email address at which they can be contacted.

The voters who need to correct their signature are given until Nov. 12, a week after Election Day, Nov. 5, to confirm the signature.

Many Mail-in Ballots

In addition, Clark County has received and inspected more than 365K mail-in ballots as of Tuesday. Another 273K Clark County voters showed up in person to vote early so far.

In a close race, a few thousand votes can make a difference as to the winner. This is especially the case in the race for president where Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump are extremely close based on state polls.

As of Tuesday, Trump narrowly leads Harris, in a poll of likely Nevada voters, released by CNN.

The poll shows 48% of likely voters in the state back Trump for the presidency. A very close 47% prefer Harris.

The numbers are so close that the results are within the poll’s margin of error.

When considering betting circles, Trump was 62% to win on Kalshi on Monday and 66% on Polymarket in national predictions.

To woo Nevada voters, Trump is scheduled to appear in Clark County’s Lee’s Family Forum at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Harris will speak in Las Vegas between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Thursday. Maná, a Mexican pop band, will perform at her rally, and singer and actress Jennifer Lopez will speak.

Nevada’s six electoral votes may play a key role nationally as to who wins in the neck and neck race for the White House.
