The Mississippi Gaming Commission reported that casino revenue was down 9.2% year over year.
The Mississippi Gaming Commission (MGC) reported that the state’s 25 non-tribal casinos brought in $190.7 million in revenue from poker, slots, and table games in September. Revenue was down 9% from August and 9.2% from September 2023 ($209.9 million). This is the third time in 2024 that revenue has fallen below $200 million.
Mississippi casino revenue is divided into three regions: Central, Coastal, and Northern. The Coastal region brought in $126.2 million in revenue, the Northern region brought in $39.5 million, and the Central region brought in $24.9 million. All three regions saw year-over-year and month-over-month declines.
The highest casino revenue this year was $235.1 million in March, while the lowest was $180.3 million in January.
