With just hours to go before Election Day, presidential and vice presidential candidates showed up to do last-minute campaigning in Nevada.

Late last week, former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris both held political rallies in the area to lure voters in what’s expected to be a very close race.

“I am asking you to dream big again, dream big again. This will be America’s new golden age,” Trump told an enthusiastic crowd at Lee’s Family Forum in Henderson, Nev. He also backed sentencing to death any migrant who kills an American citizen or law enforcement officer.

Harris, meanwhile, repeated her proposal to have Medicare cover a home health aide so afflicted seniors can remain in their homes and receive care.

“It is time for a new generation of leadership in America, and I am ready to offer that as the next President of the United States,” Harris said during her speech to the audience assembled at Craig Ranch Amphitheater in North Las Vegas. “Nevada, you know me, I am not afraid of tough fights.”

On Saturday, Harris’ running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz (D), and Trump’s running mate, US Sen. JD Vance (R, Ohio), also appeared in the Las Vegas Valley in separate events.

Donald Trump will fade into history whether he likes it or not,” Walz predicted.

“What would you do to fix the border? Kamala Harris? Well, nothing comes to mind … What ideas do you have for lowering the cost of groceries and housing for American citizens? Nothing comes to mind,” Vance said.

J. Lo in Region

One of the most anticipated recent appearances was singer and actress Jennifer Lopez, who campaigned with Harris in Nevada.

Lopez was upset over the recent offensive joke made by comedian Tony Hinchcliffe at a pro-Trump rally in New York. Hinchcliffe called Puerto Rico a “floating island of garbage.”

It wasn’t just Puerto Ricans who were offended that day, OK? It was every Latino in this country, it was humanity and anyone of decent character,” said Lopez, whose family came from Puerto Rico.

“You know what? We should be emotional. We should be upset. We should be scared and outraged. We should. Our pain matters. We matter,” Lopez said. “Your voice and your vote matters.”

Very Close Race

The latest polls show that the race between Trump and Harris remains neck and neck.

One recent survey, from Emerson College Polling/RealClearWorld, gave Harris 48% and Trump 47% among likely voters questioned in Nevada. The margin of error for the poll was 3.6%.

The poll was conducted between October 29 and 31. Pollsters questioned 700 Nevada residents.

As of Friday, in-person early voting stopped in Nevada. Voters will next be able to vote in person on Tuesday, Election Day.

Nevada is one of the most watched states in the US to determine who will win the presidential race.

Meanwhile, Henderson, Nev. police continue to investigate a recent act of vandalism at an Inspirada neighborhood residence. Nazi signs and other offensive vandalism took place at the property, which displayed a Harris-Walz campaign sign.
