LA Poker Classic Kicking Off This Week; PokerNews to Live Report $10K Main Event

The Commerce Casino in California is hosting will host more than a month of tournament action with the 2025 LA Poker Classic running Jan. 10-March 2.

The series will culminate with the $10,000 buy-in LAPC Main Event beginning Feb. 22, which PokerNews will be on-site to live report.

Big Guarantees in Los Angeles

Action in southern California will kick off with a $400 buy-in opening event that features a massive six starting flights and a $250,000 guaranteed prize pool.

There are other big guarantees throughout the series, such as the $150,000 guaranteed Event #3 $400 XL Bounty, the $300,000 guaranteed Event #13 $600 40/40, the $100,000 guaranteed Event #19 $300 Mystery Bounty (Year of the Snake), and, most notably, the $1 million guaranteed $1,200 Commerce Classic.

There will also be plenty of mixed game action, including the $500 Mixed Triple Draw, $500 H.O.R.S.E., $500 Pot-Limit Five-Card Omaha/Big O event.

Other Commerce Highlights

There have been other big recent events at The Commerce. In September, the $1,200 Commerce Casino Hold’em Series Main Event drew 517 entrants for a prize pool of $542,850.

The event saw South Korea’s Sungmin Cho winning the championship trophy and top prize of $87,315 after a three-way chop with six-time bracelet winner Brian Hastings (2nd – $80,100) and Paul W Lee (3rd – $72,945).
