Jake Paul Odds of -350 Suggest He’ll Beat Mike Tyson

Jake Paul is a 27-year-old 6’1 who looks huge ahead of his fight with Mike Tyson, which has raised rumors of a potential use of PEDs. “The Problem Child” is 31 years and five months younger than “Iron Mike,” as well as three inches taller and about 20 pounds heavier than him.

But he’s got nothing on Tyson when it comes to boxing experience. In fact, he’s nowhere near most professional heavyweights when experience with top-level boxing is concerned.

Paul is 10-1 overall with his only loss happening to Tommy Fury, who, although being a pro boxer, isn’t what you call the elite. His wins, on the other hand, happened against boxing rookies or washed-up boxers, which has earned Paul a reputation as a bully.

To see what we mean, here’s the list of all the boxers he’s defeated in his pro career:

  • AnEsonGib – A YouTuber who made his pro boxing debut against Paul.
  • Nate Robinson – A former basketball player who made his pro boxing debut against Paul.
  • Ben Askren – A former wrestling-oriented MMA fighter who made his pro boxing debut against Paul.
  • Tyron Woodley (two bouts) – A former wrestling/grappling-focused MMA fighter who made his pro boxing debut against Jake Paul.
  • Anderson Silva – A former MMA fighter who was 47 when he ought Paul.
  • Nate Diaz – A former MMA fighter who made his pro boxing debut against Paul.
  • Andre August – A pro boxer who had fought only once in four years before facing Paul, and who was 35 when they fought.
  • Ryan Bourland – A pro boxer who had only one fight in four years before the Paul bout, and who was 35 at the time.
  • Mike Perry – A former UFC fighter and current BKFC champ who’s 0-2 in pro boxing.

Obviously, Paul’s performances have improved over the years, but he’s still nowhere near the level of boxers Mike Tyson has fought. Beating Tyson would make him a star in the world of social media, but that wouldn’t do much for his reputation in the pro boxing world.

In fact, many athletes have criticized him for fighting a 58-year-old. Many of them believe this is embarrassing; now imagine how embarrassing it would be for Paul if he lost to the old guy! So, can Tyson beat him and effectively end his boxing career?

Can Mike Tyson Produce Anything on November 15?

Will Tyson show the world that he’s still “The Baddest Man on the Planet?” The short answer is yes. We think he’s going to do well against Paul.

But it all depends on your definition of “well”. In the movie Rocky, the title character was cheered by the fans even though he lost the crucial fight – they celebrated the fact that he went the distance with the favorite.

So, can Tyson go the distance with Paul or maybe even beat the social media star? Well, even though “Iron Mike” is one of the best boxers in history – if not the very best one – he’s just too old for fighting.

Not only is he in his late 50s, but after wrapping up the first part of his professional boxing career in 2005 (and even before that), he lived a life of debauchery. In 2013, he publicly admitted to lying about being a teetotaler and saying he was on the verge of death from alcohol abuse.

On the bright side for him, the Paul vs. Tyson fight rules make this one of the easiest fights of his career. First of all, there should be no more than 8 rounds – the last time he fought a pro fight with a max. of under 10 rounds was in 1985.

Further, each round is max. 2 minutes, while in his heyday, the usual period was 3 minutes. On top of everything, the gloves that will be used in the Paul vs. Tyson bout are 14oz gloves, which provide extra cushioning, thus reducing the chance of an injury, as well as of a knockout.

Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson Prediction

Jake Paul will win this fight; we have no doubt about it. But he won’t embarrass “Iron Mike” who’s bound to give him war and exit the fight as a people’s champion in the manner of Rocky Balboa in the 1976 Sylvester Stallone movie.

Our prediction is that Paul will win by decision, which, interestingly, is going to be Tyson’s first-ever loss by this method.

Pick: Jake Paul by Decision
