Can Brighton Ruin Arsenal’s South Coast Adventure?

Brighton currently sit 10th in the Premier League with 27 points after 19 games. That’s not bad at all, especially given that they remain within striking distance of the top six. Finishing in that part of the table is their goal for this season, as it would mean qualifying for one of the European competitions.

The bad news for the Seagulls is that they’re not in very good shape right now. Actually, they’re on a seven-match winless streak. It’s been more than 40 days since they won a game last time.

They did, however, draw each of their last three games, including the one with Aston Villa in Birmingham last Monday. The final score was 2:2, which is a sort of testament to how the Seagulls have been playing this season – they’re productive offensively, but their defense is leaky.

Overall, they’ve netted 29 goals this season, which accounts for 1.52 goals per game on average. However, defensive vulnerabilities are evident, having conceded 28 goals thus far – that’s 1.47 per game.

Arsenal Feeling Good About Their Chances in 2025

The Gunners feel as if 2025 is going to be their year. Sure, there’s a six-point gap behind league leaders Liverpool, who also have a game in hand. On the bright side, however, the season is long, and they have plenty of time to challenge for the No. 1 spot.

What’s giving them confidence that they can pull it off is that they started the year with a 3-1 victory over Brentford in West London. This win was achieved despite the absence of key players, including Kai Havertz, Bukayo Saka, and others.

Saka will miss the January 4 game as well, but Havertz might return, following a brief illness. He’s their top scorer this season in the Prem, but they did okay without him against Brentford, with goals by Gabriel Jesus, Mikel Merino, and Gabriel Martinelli.

Brighton vs. Arsenal Prediction

Historically, the Gunners have had the upper hand in the Brighton vs. Arsenal fixture, with 17 wins compared to eight wins by the Seagulls, alongside six draws. Their first duel of the season ended in a 1:1 draw, but the last time these two met at the Amex Stadium, Arsenal won 3:0.

Our prediction is that Arsenal will win again, but Brighton will probably score at least a goal, just to make things more interesting.

Pick: Arsenal & Over 2.5 Goals
