Extra Rebound by LeBron James Helps a Fan with Parlay Bet

Sunday night marked the latest game between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Toronto Raptors. The game concluded with a 123 to 102 win for the Lakers.

Not unexpectedly, LeBron James, the iconic Lakers superstar demonstrated outstanding performance after hitting his third triple-double for the season and tenth rebound. Surprisingly, the tenth rebound may have helped a gambler win a wager on the recent game.

In an interview with reporters following the game, James was asked about the moment he had with the fans and the final rebound he was asked to clinch. The iconic basketball player admitted that one of the fans during the game definitely captured his attention.

“One more rebound! One more rebound,” James remembered hearing one fan yell. He then asked “What?” and the fan reiterated his request for an extra rebound. James added: “So, I got one more (rebound) and I pointed at him to acknowledge that I was listening.”

Discussion on the topic under the video posted by a Lakers fan called Jake, @SixthManJake, on X, formerly Twitter, suggested that the final rebound may have helped a fan win their parlay bet.

Users commenting on the actions of the iconic basketball player recognized him as the greatest of all time (GOAT) with one fan writing: “The GOAT debate is settled.” Another basketball fan online commented: “Yeah that was all I needed Bron is the goat now.”

Aside from praising James for his passion for the game that can even see him get an extra rebound for a fan, not everyone agreed with those actions, especially if that was tied to a sports wager.

A basketball fan who participated in the discussion recognized a player helping a fan settle a parlay as the “beginning of the end of sports.” The same user explained that whenever a gambler places a wager on a game and then asks a player to complete an action in order to win effectively means that the player also engages in gambling. “This example from LeBron sounds innocent, but you can tell by the look on his face that he knows he opened up a can of worms here,” the user with nickname Johnny Raven wrote.

A separate user online jokingly wrote: “LeParley,” while another one claimed that the tenth rebound clutch helped save a fan’s parlay wager on the recent Lakers game.
